Federalism in polarised times
This project led by Dr Sandra León at the University of York reviews the dispersion of power upwards, downwards and sideways from the central state during the 1970s and 1980s which has brought about a system of multilevel governance in which new authority structures interact and cooperate in the context of a globalized world. The project looks at two case studies in Europe of increasing polarisation and growing secessionism: Spain (Catalonia) and Bosnia (Republika Srpska).
